Catastrophic Damage Evaluations

Hurricanes, tornados and earthquakes are natural disasters that can damage building envelopes. GCI’s expert staff has worked on buildings in the aftermath of virtually every significant natural disaster in North America and the Caribbean for over 20 years. We are seasoned and experienced in the evaluation and repair of catastrophe damage.

Insurance companies and building owners are among the clients that hire GCI to evaluate losses or help with property claims following a disaster. GCI will conduct an investigation that may include a site inspection, field testing (non invasive and destructive, as required) and an analysis of our findings and building code requirements. We then present our report in oral or written form. The report is used by insurance companies to evaluate a claim or by owners to file a claim.

GCI can also help with the repair process by developing specifications and then providing quality assurance services to verify a successful repair.
