Field Air Infiltration Tests

Field Air Infiltration Tests typically are used during construction to confirm installed products meet project requirements and do not leak excessive amounts of air. GCI conducts the industry standard test method ASTM E783 - 02 Standard Test Method for Field Measurement of Air Leakage through Installed Exterior Windows and Doors. The test measures air leakage through windows and doors and the results can be used to determine if any air infiltration is within allowable industry standard limits. Air infiltration tests are becoming more widespread with the advent of Green Buildings and LEED requirements.
